Basic Information
Queen Elizabeth I was born in the year 1533 to Henry
VIII and Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth had a half brother, Edward VI and a half sister, Mary I (also known as Mary Queen of
Scots). Elizabeth was 25 years of age at the time of her coronation which took place on November 17, 1558. The
throne belonged to Elizabeth for forty five years, during those years of reign countless disputes occured. She
had been to last monarch of her dynasty, The Tudor Dynasty. Controversy between the Catholics and Protestants discouraged
Elizabeth who felt the need to reform the difficulties between the two.
Queen Elizabeth was never married but had tendency to tease
men. She had been proposed to several times and turned each and every one down. She earned the name of "The Virgin
Queen" because of the fact she was never wed.
